We aim to
understand how chemicals, including dietary components, supplements, or drugs, impact cancer incidence and treatment by
investigating relationships between chemical structure, biotransformation, and
cellular response.
Our research combines chemistry-oriented approaches to gain an understanding of biological processes:
The lab is led by Professor Shana J. Sturla, and comprised of students and staff from around the world. Student researchers are pursuing PhD, masters, or bachelors degrees, and our staff includes postdoctoral researchers, senior scientists, and other support.
Knowledge of molecular mechanisms of toxicology derived from this research is expected to contribute to improved human health and disease prevention strategies.
